What is the Eclipse MicroPen®?
The Eclipse MicroPen® is a micro-needle used to improve the appearance of facial scars, acne scars, and more. The Eclipse MicroPen® will stimulate collagen production, which then starts improving the elastin production in the skin. The tiny needle will make small “injuries” in the skin, allowing the collagen to be stimulated and start healing the area. When the skin has healed, patients see improvement in the skin as it normally looks smoother.
Is Eclipse MicroPen® Treatment Safe?
This is a safe, effective treatment for patients seeking ways to smooth out their fine lines, acne scars, stretch marks, and overall want to improve their appearance. Most patients are concerned about pain and worry that the treatment will hurt. The latest version of the Eclipse MicroPen® we use has improved pain, and we often find that most patients do not experience intense pain, but mild discomfort. Some areas of the face are more sensitive than others, so you may have more pain in one area of treatment. To avoid pain, we do use a numbing cream that helps to reduce the discomfort and may simply feel like a small tickle as we go across your face.
Scheduling Your Eclipse MicroPen® Treatment
When patients schedule an appointment with our medical spa in Ogden, we will focus on your health and discussing your skin ailments. We want to provide treatments that give measurable results. Once we know what type of results you are seeking, our experienced doctors can perform the Eclipse MicroPen® treatment.
Our technicians and physicians will be with you for the entire appointment to talk you through the procedure. We start by applying a numbing cream (which you can opt-out of using) to make the treatment tolerable. In a single motion, we will glide the Eclipse MicroPen® over the treatment area. Based on the amount of work required, plan on spending an hour or two at our facility for treatment.
What Will My Skin Look Like?
Following treatment patients may notice their skin seems red and blotchy for a day or two. Normally it looks like a sunburn, but it should fade away quickly and you can resume your daily routine. We do recommend you avoid using makeup for at least two days following treatment. You will see results start to appear within six months or sooner. Most patients will receive at least two or three treatments every six to eight weeks. Patients with advanced scarring may need to come in for additional treatments.
